Tips for buying used spin cast equipment:

We are not an equipment broker and we no longer offer an online link, for used equipment, offered by our customers.

We do not sell supplies, other than metal alloys and  solders.

Helpful Hints:

For those new to buying spin cast equipment, the casting machines are broken down into several categories. They all force a removable metal plate down onto the spinning mould when the machine is started. Most have adjustments for speed and pressure onto the mould and should have braking capability when the process is completed. They should not gyrate unevenly while spinning.  A quality machine will reverse the direction of spin with a switch.

  1. Hobby type machines.
  2. Old style flying weight machines.
  1. Single stage air machines.
  2. Front Loading machines
  3. Multi mould capable machines.

Vulcanizers come in three and four post varieties.

When buying, make sure the platens are parallel to each other. If possible test that the pressurizing mechanisms don’t leak. Does it come with a safety to prevent runaway temperatures?  Are the temperatures even on the top and bottom platens?  Check the temperature from front to back too! Are the timing mechanisms accurate?  CNC machined four post Vulcanizers will give better results than the popular three post machines

Check that the manufacturer is still in business and if parts are available or they may have to be specially fabricated. Will the manufacturer/distributor supply parts and/or service without requiring you to purchase other items from them?
