Low Melt Eutectic Alloys

Low-Melting or Fusible alloys (Also known as Eutectic and Non-Eutectic Alloys) are generally the alloys that melt below 450 Deg. F. ( 233 Deg. C ). The most useful are the alloys containing high percentages of Bismuth combined with Lead, Tin, Cadmium, Indium and other metals. The low melting temperature and unique growth/shrinkage characteristics of these alloys lead to a greater diversity in useful applications than almost any other alloy system.

Applications:

From radiation therapy shielding applications to creating chucks for holding parts during machining , from being used as filler material when bending pipe or tube to creating fusible elements in automatic fire sprinklers , Low-Melting alloys continue to have a quiet yet profound impact on our lives.

136 Degree F Low Melting Alloy 2491AN 2 lb. Cake Even Weight 49% Bismuth, 18% Lead, 21% Indium, 12% Tin.

This low melt alloy melts at approximately 136 F and does not contain Cadmium. The industry also refers to it a Low Alloy
158 Degree F Low Melting Alloy 250NY158 2 lb. Cake Even Weight 50% Bismuth, 10% Cadmium, 26.7% Lead, 13.3% Tin.

This low melt alloy melts at approximately 158 F. It is used in many tube bending applications since it will expand upon solidification and can be easily melted out of the tube once bent.
Neylo 281 Low Melt Eutectic Alloy 258NY281 Cakes - Stamped 281 58% Bismuth, 42% Tin.

This low melt alloy melts at approximately 281 F and is one of the Safest Low Melt Alloys to work with since it does not contain Cadmium or Lead. The industry also refers to it as Tru Alloy.
Neylo 281 Fusible Plug 258NPLG 3/8" x 3/16" Hex Plug 58% Bismuth, 42% Tin.

This alloy, as well as many others we supply, can be used internally on fusible plugs. These plugs typically protect components from overheating beyond 281 F, such as boilers, oil tanks, machinery, etc..

This low melt alloy melts at approximately 281 F and is used for many Lead Free, Cadmium Free solder applications, such as Lead Free Jewelry for children or Pewter products such as tankards, cups, plates or mugs since it does not contain Cadmium or Lead. The industry also refers to it as Tru Alloy.
